I have been a fan of the Heli Challenge ever since I was a kid watching it on the telly back in Aus. In fact it played quite a part in me moving over to Wanaka all those years ago.
I am an Australian living in New Zealand. I have been in Wanaka for my southern winters for over 6 years now, and I passionately love the place, and the mountains that surround us here.
My background in competitive skiing was in slopestyle, and I competed and placed at major events in the US and Europe, and was even one of the few girls to ever be invited to the Jon Olsson Invitational back in 2006. But that year I suffered some pretty massive injuries to my knee and back, and have been slowly getting back into the game ever since.
This past season in Europe, I decided to compete on some of the Freeride World Qualifier events. In all I did 5 events, and finished the season in 14th on the Womens Freeride World Ranking. I had an absolute blast competing in these events and really enjoyed the people that I met through doing them.
I am pretty seriously amped to be given the chance to ski in this year's Heli Challenge. The combination of both big mountain and freestyle is a dream, and to do it around here an even bigger dream!
I ski for Armada, Rojo, Smith Optics, Pow Gloves and will be representing both SnowPark and Treble Cone this coming season - the perfect combo!
